JOHN CAIN is a musician, composer, author, teacher, singer, entertainer and arranger/orchestrator. Cain plays several instruments such as the piano, guitar, bass, harmonica, and accordion.  In addition to live performances he gives educational seminars on the history of jazz, Latin music, and classical music. He is the author of the book "Life's A Good Gig," nominated for best non-fiction book in the 2008 San Diego Book & Writers Awards. Cain has watched the world go by from sitting behind a piano on the bandstand. He safely guides the audience from American music-(jazz, blues, country, standards from the "great American song book") into the world of Latin music, with lots of laughs and surprises along the way. Cain plays several musical instruments including the piano, guitar, bass fiddle, accordion, harmonica and Latin percussion. He is also an orchestrator, arranger and produces recordings for many other artists and musicians. For years Cain has been delighting audiences with his unique and versatile talent, singing in five languages and performing a vast, international repertoire. He performs songs in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, and French with a repertoire of Jazz, Blues, Latin, American Standards as well as his original compositions. He appears regularly at top San Diego venues like the world renown Hotel Del Coronado, Humphrey’s, The Bahia Resort Hotel and Elario’s at the beautiful Hotel La Jolla.

When KatieCat & Cain teamed up in 2007, the chemistry was immediately evident with the melding of 2 rich and diverse musical backgrounds.  KatieCat studied classical voice as an undergraduate at San Francisco State University and honed her vocal skills in a variety of Bay Area ensembles, including the Oakland Symphony Chorus.  A chance invitation to join a jazz ensemble introduced her to the Great American Songbook and ignited her passion for jazz singing.  She furthered her knowledge by attending The Jazz School in Berkeley, Ca.  In 2005, she debuted as a jazz singer at the Purple Onion in San Francisco and has performed up and down the west coast since.
